Industrial Centrifugal Fans

Centrifugal Fans for Commercial & Industrial Applications

Industrial centrifugal fans are ideal for ventilation applications that need to move a steady stream of air. These durable fans are perfect situations that require high-pressure displacement. This includes harsh environments that deal with hot, humid, and corrosive air. Romla Fans offers a variety of filtered centrifugal turbine fans to best meet our customers’ needs.

How Does a Centrifugal Fan Work?

A centrifugal fan, also known as a blower fan or simply a blower, is comprised of a fan blade, motor, and a housing. Unlike an axial fan, which circulates air throughout a space, a centrifugal fan is good for pushing air in a specific direction. That is why they are typically used for ducted applications.

In a centrifugal exhaust fan, the blades sit perpendicular to the air flow. That means that the air flows in the same direction as the fan turns. (see animation to the left). On the other hand, a hooded roof axial fan‘s blades spin horizontally, and the air moves at an angle perpendicular to the rotation.

Centrifugal roof fans are commonly used in residential bathrooms and kitchens. In these situations, they exhaust hot, humid, and dirty air. In addition to residential applications, they are also used in industrial kitchens, chemical processing plants, and various other facilities where exhaust humid, “dirty” air is required.
